Our Story

Four By Four Construction, a full service general contracting firm, is located in La Jolla, California. Owned and operated by Jeff, Dean, and Dave, the Fargo brothers bring vast experience to this quality residential and commercial building company.

Jeff, Dean, and David started their careers in high school and college as concrete and framing journeyman. After graduation from college they progressed to various positions, including project managers for Fargo Industries, and combined their extensive experience to start Four By Four Construction in 1991.

The founders still actively manage each project. Our company’s long personal history – over 20 years – with local tradesmen and subcontractors provides us a deep and well-connected talent pool from which we are able to acquire top professionals for every facet of a project.

Our homes have been recognized for their outstanding workmanship and detailed craftsmanship which has earned us a reputation as one of the area’s premier general contractors.
